The garden at 2812 Morgan Avenue: How do you tame an
overgrown jungle of a garden and make it shine? Use a machete. When this client asked me to help reclaim her new Oakland bungalow’s outdoor space, there were so many different plants on top of each other, it was almost
impossible to even see what was there. But with a few days of careful hacking it started to resemble a lovely garden again. We then added native plants
to bring the design together and created an easy, low-maintenance backdrop
for the owner to entertain, relax with her dog and commune
with a friendly band of chipmunks.
